Fortunately, we don’t have to go far for a wine tasting weekend in the PNW. We have one of the easiest wine countries to navigate and it’s just a short trek from Seattle. Woodinville Wine Country is home to over 130 wineries and seems to be increasing in popularity year after year.
Woodinville Wine Country is organized in to 4 Districts: Downtown District, Hollywood District, Warehouse District, West Valley District.

If you are looking to plan a getaway to Woodinville, here’s an itinerary you can mimic and are guaranteed a beautiful time!

Willows Lodge

Chateau Ste Michelle
Chateau Ste Michelle is Washington State’s oldest winery at over 50 years old, and has the most exquisite property in Woodinville with its French inspired architecture and 105-acre wooded surroundings. It is host to live concerts on the lawn, wine making events, and has ample space for private parties.
Book a Chateau Ste Michelle Experience! Changes based on the season so check often for updates. These are wonderful ways to incorporate a more intimate and unique experience during your wine tasting day. On a tighter budget? Make a tasting reservation in their incredibly stunning tasting chateau!
We were hosted in a private igloo, furnished with all the comforts of the indoors, plus a beautiful spread of lite bites to accompany a bottle of Chateau Ste Michelle wine. They even include a small bluetooth speaker so you can curate your very own ambiance.
Mark Ryan Winery
Mark Ryan Winery tasting room in Woodinville is eclectic and lively! It boasts with the air of a Seattle music venue while serving up amazing wine and personality!
They are in the process of constructing their larger tasting room in Woodinville and we’ll be first in line to visit!
Try the OLD VINES cab sauv which are sourced from some of the oldest vineyards in Washington. Its bold balance is one that does not disappoint.

Matthews Winery
Aside from the picturesque farm property and tasting room in the heart of Woodinville Wine Country, Matthews has recently added to their winemaker team forming quite the impressive talent.
The property houses a charming organic farm, outdoor kitchen, lawn, and large tasting room. Perfect for hosting events or a large wine tasting party.
Sister wine labels Jaine Cottage, which handcrafts white and rosé wines from sustainable vineyards, and Tenor, which is 100% single varietal wines from the finest Washington vineyards are also highly recommended on your wine tasting tour.
My wine of choice from the Matthews library is the 2018 Cuvée.
Pepper Bridge Winery & Amavi Cellars
Portia and I were first introduced to Amavi Cellars on our Walla Walla trip and instantly fell in love with their wines and ambiance. They produce a lovely Syrah that I frequently enjoy.
Pepper Bridge Winery and Amavi Cellars are sister wineries with the same winemaker, family owned, and 100% produced in Walla Walla, WA. They produce some of the most sought-after grapes and are certified sustainable.
Amavi’s Woodinville tasting room is quaint and located in the Hollywood District, conveniently in walking distance to several other tasting rooms and dining options.
