Our favorite travel bestie was turning the big 4-0! What better way to celebrate Portia than with a girlfriend getaway to the stunning Alderbrook Resort.
We were treated like queens by the kind and warm staff at Alderbrook. During our celebration stay we had the pleasure of enjoying several unique experiences that Alderbrook offers, such as: the culinary adventure tent, multi course private dinner at Hook & Fork by Chef Sara Harvey, adult swim, live music, walks along the dock, drinks by the fireplace, and lunch-to-go bags by Chef Sara for our return drive home.
At over 100 years old, Alderbrook Resort & Spa has been a long time favorite destination for families and gatherings. With ample lodge rooms, cottages, and meeting spaces, it’s also perfect for a corporate getaway or retreat.
CULINARY ADVENTURE TENT
November thru April, Alderbrook offers a unique cuisine experience that whisks your tastebuds away to an ultimate culinary adventure. Through a four course meal and wine pairing, featuring locally sourced ingredients, live music, and your very own private pod, you and your guests will end the evening with full bellies and hearts. It’s truly a memorable dining event.

HOOK & FORK
Just 2 miles down along the Canal from Alderbrook Resort is Hook & Fork, a public dining space with water views, offering a seasonal rotating menu by chef Sara Harvey.
This was one of the most special dining experiences we’ve ever had. Each dish felt like it was crafted with utmost care and consideration for intentional use of each ingredient.
Alderbrook has the most lavish and delicious breakfast offerings! Order up everyone’s breakfast favorites with a side of bloody mary’s for a cozy and relaxing in room dining experience. Bonus if you all have matching PJs and burn off breakfast with a morning dance party to get the day started.
After fueling up, we took to the water and enjoyed a walk along the lengthy dock, soaked up the beautiful landscape, sat on the edge of the dock and talked about life, and in true Girlfriend Getaway fashion, did a photo shoot. Alderbrook holds one of the most serene and photogenic back drops!
Bring your suits! The heated saltwater indoor pool and hot tub area boasts with lush live plants and palms, giving tropical vibes with ocean views! Adult only swim is 5am - 9am + 9pm - 12am. All guest swim is open 9am - 9pm.
